Ljubljana, 13 November 2025
A ceremony marking Njegoš Day was held in Ljubljana on 13 November, attended by members of the Montenegrin diplomatic and cultural community in Slovenia. The Honorary Consul of Montenegro in Slovenia, Vojislav Kovač, together with the Ambassador of Montenegro to Slovenia, Dragan Tufegdžić, laid a wreath at the monument to Petar II Petrović Njegoš, one of Montenegro’s most important writers, philosophers, and statesmen.
As part of the program organized by the Montenegro Association, an evening dedicated to Njegoš’s life and work was held. The central guest was actor Momčilo Otašević, whose performance delighted members of the Montenegrin diaspora and friends of Montenegrin culture.
The organizers emphasized that celebrating Njegoš Day contributes to preserving cultural heritage and strengthening ties between the Montenegrin community and Slovenian society.
